Ill faith

By Sarah O’Brien

Too hurt to know how I feel,

too angry to accept it might be real,

too late to wish it all away,

too young to count on an appeal

In my heart I’m aware that it’s wrong,

dependence, need, hurt all along

For you should not feel as you do,

and she should not encourage you too

A pitfall you’ve been set up to embrace,

a life that’s cold and alone you will face

they will never accept our love at face

they win or lose dependant on our place

inclusion can mean so much its true,

just be sure what you’re doing, you’re doing for you,

demons ill perceived or otherwise,

lie dormant till credence you give,

a fallacy it’s been taught to you,

that one is one and three is two.
